“Get Over It.” That’s the new mantra from the Republican Party.

We are not over the corruption. The lying. The cheating. The idea that winning is everything, that might makes right, or that the law does not apply to presidents.

We are working together to return some sense of values (compassion, fairness, equity, and tolerance) to our government’s actions. We do that by engaging in the political process, pressuring our Senators and Representatives to align their actions with those values, and encouraging our friends and neighbors to change the political landscape.

Start by making phone calls (Phone Scripts 10.21-10.27.2019). Then send texts, write postcards, register voters, and build the resistance.

At this point - Plan to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Any Democratic Party Presidential Candidate who makes it through the primaries and caucuses will be better for the country. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country.

How do we recover from this president?
We hold fair elections.
We hold our elected leaders accountable.
We support each other.
We have - and teach - ethics.

Together we can do this. Meet, talk, write, work, vote. Repeat.

At this point - Plan to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Any Democratic Party Presidential Candidate who makes it through the primaries and caucuses will be better for the country. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country.

The next election is not about our current president. It’s about us.

We see a better country based on the rule of law. We believe in legal and economic equality, and especially in equality of opportunity. This is why we write, call, and show up.

We are not the Democratic Party. We are engaged and concerned individuals who will hold our elected officials accountable for their actions and their inactions. This is why we remember that no one - not even the president - is above the law.

At this point - Plan to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Any Democratic Party Presidential Candidate who makes it through the primaries and caucuses will be better for the country. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country.

Some would have us believe that the Democrats in Congress have done nothing for the past 9 months but attack the sitting president. This is so false it is staggering. The House has brought forward and passed over 300 pieces of legislation; the Senate has voted on only a tiny percentage of those.

And while we wait, impatiently, for more information to be provided through the impeachment process, we need to talk more about the do-nothing Senate, and how they are delaying and ignoring legislation that would address our biggest concerns.

We can work to bring the information about this to our friends and family, wherever they live. And we can work to sign up more voters, encourage voters to learn more, and turn out the vote on every Election Day.

At this point - Plan to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country,

The contempt for our constitution displayed by the current president is unfathomable.
What can we do about that?

  • We can work to turn out the vote.

  • We can pressure our political leaders to uphold the rule of law - in deed as well as word.

  • We can talk with our neighbors across this country (postcards, texts) about why the democracy and our country are things we must work for again and again. The price of liberty is truly eternal vigilance.

At this point - Plan to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country,

Some things are out of our hands. We cannot control or limit the tweeter in chief, although we wish we could.

Right now, our task is to hold Congress accountable - for their actions and their inaction. We must applaud when they act in our country’s best interests, and chide our officials when they fear to act.

At the same time, we must seize every opportunity to support and encourage - and elect - new voices to Congress, state houses, governors’ mansions, and local spots. Because these are our leaders for tomorrow, and we need to build a stronger base that responds to our country’s needs and truly supports our country’s ideals.

At this point - Plan to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country,

How do we do all those things? Because of you.

5 things to do

  • Attend the General Meeting and sign up for the 2020 election

  • Join your progressive friends and neighbors to watch the 3rd Democratic Presidential Candidate Debate

  • Rally, March, and Strike for our Climate

  • Call your Senators and Representatives to De-Fund Hate

  • Send 20 postcards to help turn out the vote

And at this point - Plant to vote Blue, No Matter Who. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country,

Get busy with Indivisible Sonoma County.

Another weekend. Another atrocity. Another vile decision by the president in office.

It is in our power to change the direction of our country. Act now by writing, calling, knocking on doors. Act later by voting. In. Every. Election.

And at this point - vote Blue, No Matter Who. Because the red Party has no conscience and no sense of duty to our country,

Get busy with Indivisible Sonoma County.

When did America become so shallow that we look for entertainment - not for honesty or accuracy - in our political news. It’s not theater. We don’t expect dramatic readers.

How long this president stays in office depends upon us - your energy and ours, your commitment and ours, your vision, your morality - and ours.

We will demand secure elections. We will demand integrity. We will turn out the vote - in Virginia, in Georgia, in Michigan, in California. Everywhere.

We are strong. We are indivisible. And we will keep America the great country we desire.

This last week haas shown us, once again, why we oppose the current administration. We knew he was a despicable person; he’s using the same tactics this year that he used in 2016 - and in the decades before that.

What must frighten us is the continuing inertia of the Republican leadership.

And what must give us strength is our unity - our recognition that, even when we disagree we are stronger together. And together we are Indivisible.

When we turn against each other and progressives fight moderates while liberals fight progressives - we don’t win. We just throw more ammunition to the true opposition.

So this week - even as you feel frustrated because things move too fast and yet not fast enough; because not enough is said or done to turn this ship wreck from the rocks - remember our focus. We oppose the Trump [and Republican] agenda. We support the Rule of Law. And we hold our elected officials - all of them - accountable.

No government has changed its policies without people like you and me, pushing for that change. Without people like you and me, the autocrats and power hungry among us would have won, over and over.

We are the backbone of our democracy. We are the strength, courage, and the will to build a better system.

Make your presence known. Make noise, make waves, and help make a difference.

Sometimes words fail us. All the ways we want to describe the past two and a half years seem to reflect bodily functions.

Before you lose your cool over the wretched policies of this administration one more time, we have ways for you to be heard. Come to Courthouse Square at noon on Tuesday. Come by again for a candlelight vigil on Friday, July 12.

Celebrate our independence and our support for each other. Because we are stronger together, and together we are Indivisible.
