Take Action 10.26.2017

1. Take Action.
Help Get Out the Vote in Virginia, from the comfort of your own couch! Virginians go to the polls on November 7 in the first statewide election since November 2016. They’ve built a tool for Indivisibles ANYWHERE in the US to phone-bank or text-bank Virginians to remind them to vote. Want to help? Sign up for a volunteer shift now! https://act.indivisible.org/go/18214?t=6&akid=3156%2E390113%2EYPqf1b

Keep our National Parks accessible for all
Please submit your statements during the public comment period on the Dept. of Interior page regarding the proposal to double National Park entry fees at a variety of national parks, including Yellowstone and Denali. Doubling the fees poses big issues for equal access to parks for people of all incomes, and will be particularly problematic for local communities near parks whose residents will have to pay more to go hiking in their own backyards.

Here is the link to an article on it and to the comment page.

2.  Use our Scripts.
Senator Harris has committed to supporting a CLEAN Dream Act and topposing the end-of-year spending bill until Congress and the Senate are clear about establishing policies to protect and take care of our DACA young people in this country. That’s great … but unless that end-of-year spending bill protects us all, her pledge doesn’t go far enough.

Call Senator Harris
DC phone: (202) 224-3553
SF phone: (415) 355-9041

There’s more at stake than the Dream Act

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to thank Senator Harris for her willingness to fight the Trump/Republican Tax Scam tooth and nail. This tax scam is an enormous give-away to the super-rich at the expense of everyone else. It will blow a gaping hole in our country’s deficit, hurt children and the elderly, impact the safety of immigrants, and create a ballooning military that will be used to fight this administration's petty actions.

I’m pleased that Senator Harris continues to defend the Dream Act and to ask for a clean version. But I’m counting on her to use that rigor to protect the budget. And to give not one penny to the rich in tax breaks.
