Proposed Repeal of the Clean Power Plan
Deadline: December 15, 2017
Despite the serious impacts of climate change now and in the future, the Republican administration is proposing to repeal the federal rule that was issued to control our country’s biggest source of climate pollution — fossil-fuel-fired power plants. The administration has proposed to repeal the rule now and consider whether to replace it later.
EPA will accept public comments on the proposed repeal of the Clean Power Plan (CPP) until December 15, 2017, and the agency expects to schedule a public hearing. For more information on this rollback proposal and how to comment, see Defending the Clean Power Plan on the Save EPA web site.
The proposed repeal of the Clean Power Plan (CPP) is the next step in implementation of President Trump’s March 28 Executive Order titled “Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth.” The order calls for review and revision or repeal of many climate rules and policies.
Make your voice heard by submitting comments to EPA and sending a copy of your comments to your representative and senators. For information to assist, see Defending the Clean Power Plan.

Ways to Help Us Win in Virginia
The election for Virginia's governor and House of Delegates is 6 days from today, and you can easily help out using a text banking tool that you can do from home.
Text Banking at Home
It's super easy! Each "shift" takes about 2 hours, so sign up for as many as you can. You'll be assigned a list of voters to text and remind them to vote. A laptop is recommended, but a phone works too. A gmail account is required for set up. If you're not on gmail, it's easy to set up an account.
Sign up here https://indivisiblemarin.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=04cfd1041fe18d3d211763d75&id=a019b47aaf&e=7a752d11cf to indicate which days you are able to text. Then, on your preferred texting day you will sign in to Groundgame! You will be assigned a personalized list of 1000 VA voters. Don't worry - it will only take a couple of hours. You will receive progress reports to let you know how you are doing individually, as well as how all participants are doing as a team!
The national goal is to text 75,000 voters . In 2016 Donald Trump won the state of Wisconsin by 27,000 votes. This work matters. Mobilizing these voters CAN and WILL make a difference in Virginia.

Election Day is coming up! We're hoping to get at least 20 Indivisible/action groups across the country to host get out the vote (GOTV) text banks next Saturday and Sunday, November 4-5. Can you get your group texting & help flip some districts in November?
Rapid Results (Rapid Resist's partner LLC) is partnered with RunForSomething.net to support their list of young, amazing, down-ballot candidates running for the first time in red & purple areas. We also have several candidates we've researched and vetted ourselves - like Caren Fitzpatrick in Atlantic City, NJ, who is challenging a Confederate flag-wearing incumbent! In both cases, you'll be helping to build the build the bench of progressive champions we need to need to win back our country.
(Please also sign up here to join the texting team --> http://bit.ly/RR-GOTV-signup - this is the form to complete to get in the workflow!)
