Take Action 11.6.2017

November is off with a bang – as we diligently work to halt the Trump Tax Scam, protect the constitutional limits on executive power, and ensure that Robert Mueller’s investigation continues unimpeded. Join together, Indivisible: our actions will protect these institutions for ourselves and generations to come.

1.  STOP the Trump Tax Scam
Let’s be clear: the Trump Tax Scam is a massive giveaway to the wealthy and corporations, paid for by raising taxes on some middle class families and forcing deep cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security down the road. This is THE Indivisible National action for the week of November 6 -10.

Locally, if you live in District 5 please join us Friday, November 10 at 9:30 am. Indivisible Sonoma County has a planned drop-in visit to discuss the current state of the tax bill with Congressman Thompson's District Representative, Stephen Gale.

2300 County Center Drive in Santa Rosa. Please *only* show up between 9:15 and 9:30 am out of courtesy to the staff.

2.  Use our Scripts.
Reach out to our members of Congress and our local officials. Call about protecting the Mueller investigation.

You can find those scripts here (11-6-17 Phone Scripts) and on Amplify.

3. Meetings/Events
Stop the Trump Tax Scam. Friday Nov 10 at Thompson’s office. See #1, above.

Voting Rights and Voting Suppression
What is the current state of voting rights in this country, one year before the 2018 midterms?  Hope you can attend the conversation Saturday November 11th, 10:30-12:30 with SC County Supervisor Joe Simitian and national voting rights reporter and author of Give Us the Ballot, Ari Berman, who will appear via livestream video.  If you're in the Los Altos area, please attend in person by clicking on this link and registering for free tickets:  http://bit.ly/2yULhiQ, or to watch on your computer, go to National Voter Corps' website (www.nationalvotercorps.org) and click on the YouTube link provided there on the day of the event.
