Take Action 2.8-11.2018

Sometimes we have to look away from the car crash that is this administration. This week we focus on positive actions (postcards, phone calls, trainings and events) that will directly address our country’s needs. So we can wait out the next dropped shoe. We can not worry about who walks in the parade. We know we will make a difference.

1. Action
We’re just 271 days away from the November midterm elections. And while we’re all looking forward to that big blue wave, but there’s still so much work to do to continue fighting the Administration’s agenda… while building the political infrastructure needed to take back the House (and maybe the Senate!).

Our Sonoma County Indivisibles have been calling, registering voters, and sending postcards to remind people that this is an important election with important issues.
Want to help?

Send Postcards to CA1!
CA1 has asked us to help by sending postcards to voters. They’ve got a great set of instructions here.

Call CA 49 From Home Anytime
We are working very closely with CA 49 where Darrell Issa is their current Congressman. The "Flip the 49th" team has asked us to call from home to ask voters  what issues matter to them, what is the level of support for Trump, and if they would be willing to volunteer.

You will need a computer or tablet that is connected to the Internet and a cell phone.
Send me an email for instructions and a script. Linda whatisworking@gmail.com

Not enough to get you started? Check out our Act To Win page to learn more about what Indivisible Sonoma County is doing.

2. Scripts
Budget battles. The Rule of Law. Treason. And no, we don’t want offshore drilling. Take a stand and support our members of congress!

It’s time to call. Phone Scripts 2.8-11.2018

3. Events and Meetings
Learn more about how to do the many exciting and valuable tasks that make up the resistance.  And don’t forget to register for our meeting with George Lakoff - space is limited, and tickets are required.

February 8th
We are nearly there - and we still don’t know whether there will be a government shutdown tomorrow. The House and Senate must either pass the budget - with all that means - or once again pass a continuing resolution. Or they close down the government. We have been asking our House and Senate members to hold firm for DACA, and oppose the TrumpWall. Watch this space for more information.

Saturday, Feb. 10th
Sonoma Valley Phone Bank
Our Sonoma team has been calling into CA 49 since Jan 2017. We have hounded Darrell Issa into retirement. Now we need to make sure a Democrat takes his seat. We are working with OFA (Organizing for Action) and a local group called "Flip the 49th" to contact supporters, ask them what issues they care about, and invite them to participate in a local event.

This will help the Democratic candidate build a winning message and encourage local folks to become involved.

The Sonoma Valley phone bank will be on Saturday, Feb. 10, 10am to Noon at 18488 4th Ave. in Boyes Hot Springs. Please bring a charged cell phone and ear-buds if you use them.

To RSVP or for more info/questions contact Beth at bethh@sonic.net.
