Fight the Republican Tax Scam

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to support the [MoC’s] strong opposition to the Republican tax scam. “Tax Reform” in both the House and the Senate is a Trojan horse being rushed through Congress to transfer massive wealth to the rich, directly and through breaks to corporations.

Almost nothing is given to working Americans and cuts to essential programs would surely follow, as the bills would add $1.7 trillion to the national debt. As if this isn’t bad enough, the bills directly attack the citizens of blue states through removing or reducing the SALT (state and local taxes) deduction and, in California, by removing the deduction for catastrophic loss suffered by those affected by the fires.

This scam must be defeated. I urge the [MoC] to continue to do everything in [her/his] power to defeat this monstrosity.

Jeff Sessions Must Resign

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Senator to demand the resignation of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General.

The Attorney General of the United States must serve her or his country, not the Chief Executive. Jeff Sessions, however, is threatening to appoint a Special Prosecutor to support the hysterical personal vendetta of Donald Trump against his past political opponent.

This isn’t just unAmerican. It’s third-world dictatorship. Add to this the fact that Sessions has lied multiple times under oath (he only seems to remember things after others have proven them) and there can be only one conclusion: Sessions must resign.

PROTECT THE ACA INDIVIDUAL MANDATE

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Senator to continue to fight for the survival of the Affordable Care Act. The Republicans failed to “Repeal and Replace”, but they still haven’t learned anything: now they’re attempting to repeal the individual mandate of the ACA as part of their tax scam.

The mandate is essential to the viability of the ACA. Insurance only works if a large group of people participate, with only a small minority of them drawing significant benefits at a given time. Taking away the individual mandate will cripple the law and may send it into a tailspin. 13 million Americans will lose coverage. 13 million.

I support any and all measures the Senator can take to protect the individual mandate and to sink the tax bill.

DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF WILBUR ROSS

I’m calling to ask the Senator to support the investigation into Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’s failure to disclose extensive investments in a firm which does significant business with a Russian firm tied to Vladimir Putin’s son-in-law.

We don’t need another cabinet member who lives at the intersection of Russia and corruption. Fortunately, a group of senators has asked the department’s inspector general to investigate this ethics violation. Will the Senator support the investigation and, if warranted, demand the resignation of Secretary Ross?

Vote NO on the SECURE American Energy Act
