As Republicans rush to finish their tax plan, a USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll, released on Sunday, showed that only 32 percent of Americans support the Republican tax plan, with more than half predicting it would not lower tax bills for their families or help the economy in a major way. The people are right and the GOP is wrong. Please keep calling and let our MoCs know you oppose this bill.
NO to the Tax Scam
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to support [the MoC] in working overtime to derail the Republican Tax Scam.
Deep-red Alabama spoke loudly on Tuesday and spoke for all of us: give us an America that is decent, fair and compassionate. The GOP tax bill is none of these things. It is indecent, showering enormous breaks on those so rich that they can’t even spend the money they already have.
It’s unfair, attacking working Americans and blue states to reward wealthy investors. It’s mean-hearted, ripping insurance away from millions and undermining the protections of the Affordable Care Act. And it’s only their first act: the bill is intended to create a deficit so big that they will have to dismantle Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to repair it.
I’m asking [the MoC] to slow the bill down, implore once-moderate Republicans to defect, vote against it and: to proclaim loudly that the bill is an act of aggression against Americans and the values of decency, fairness and compassion that we hold so dear.
Save the Free and Open Internet
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to support [the MoC’s] efforts to urge the FCC to abandon its attempt to dismantle the free and open internet.
In the face of massive, bipartisan opposition to the FCC’s proposed gutting of “net neutrality” (which prevents internet service providers (“ISPs”) from discriminating for or against those who use the internet),
Chairman Ajit Pai is defiantly pushing ahead. The head of a federal agency isn’t supposed to sell that agency to the highest bidder in the face of enormous public opposition, but this is exactly what Pai, who used to work for Verizon, is doing. His ruling will allow ISPs to regulate traffic on the internet and to charge or block users as they wish. This will be like allowing companies to own highways and then decide who can drive on them and how much they will have to pay. It’s no way to run a free and open society.
Will [the MoC] call for Pai’s removal and denounce his proposal?
Let the Republicans Shut It Down
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask my [MoC] to be willing to let the Republicans shut down the government if they’re not willing to include critical legislation in the funding bill needed by December 22nd.
Democrats don’t have either the power nor the responsibility to keep the government open. We are not the majority party. But we must be willing to vote “no” on passage of spending bills which don’t include key needs. Among these are protection for DREAMers, funding CHIP (the Children’s Health Insurance Program) and extending Medicaid funding for Puerto Rico. Without these being included, we must withhold our support and let the Republicans try to pass the spending bill on their own.
I need [the MoC’s] firm commitment that [she/he] will stand up for what’s right and will only vote for the spending bill if it includes these key needs. And I will remember that vote come the next election.
Urge Senator Grassley to Subpoena Trump Jr.
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I am calling to ask the Senator to join with Senator Blumenthal to insist that the Senate Judiciary Committee immediately subpoena Donald Trump, Jr. for public testimony and documents over his contacts with Russia.
Enough is enough with the lying and evasion. As Senator Blumenthal publicly stated in his December 5 letter to Senator Grassley, “Though he claimed to be fully cooperating with the Judiciary Committee investigation, Mr. Trump, Jr. did not initially turn over these communications. […] Only after he was questioned under oath did he reveal the existence.” The Judiciary Committee has been unable to question
The president’s son and his lawyer have given at least three different incomplete and misleading statements about the now infamous June 9, 2016, meeting with Russians at Trump Tower. Senator, I care about the lies and the obfuscation about the Russian issue, and I expect you to do all in your power to bring this information into the light.
Investigate the Assaulter-in-Chief
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Senator [Feinstein/Harris] to demand an investigation into allegations of sexual assault against Donald Trump.
Who can possibly believe that the allegations are untrue, given Trump’s own statements and actions? But in order to make them unassailable, the Senate must investigate the allegations against the President thoroughly. Fairness, to his alleged victims as well as to the public at large, demands nothing less.
Will the Senator join her colleagues, including Senator Gillibrand, whom Trump just this Tuesday harassed, in demanding a thorough investigation into the allegations of sexual assault against the president?

Investigate the Suspicious Puerto Rico Death Count
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Representative [Huffman/Thompson] to join Representatives Velásquez and Bennie Thompson in asking the Government Accountability Office (“GAO”) to investigate the suspiciously low death count in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria.
Federal assistance, already woefully inadequate for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, will likely be further hampered by falsified statistics – sadly, a hallmark of this most corrupted and vindictive administration.
Will [Jared/Mike] join his colleagues in demanding an investigation into the Puerto Rico/Hurricane Maria death count?
