We want to see the entire report from the Russia/Trump investigation! We want the children united with their families! And - especially now - we need to remember the victims, living and dead, from mass gun violence, and encourage our Senators to vote for better background checks!

Release the Report!!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to demand the full public release of Special Counsel Mueller’s report on the role of Russia’s attack on the 2016 election and the role of Trump and his campaign in aiding them.

Robert Mueller has finally submitted his long-awaited report. We still don’t know how much of the report will be made public, but we know that all of it should be. The Russian attack on the 2016 election, which was decisive in making Trump president, was perhaps the most devastating attack, military or otherwise, in our nation’s history, since it installed a destructive and incompetent president who proceeded to degrade and destroy our country, apparently on behalf of Russia, the attacker. This much we already know, but Mueller knows more. It’s critical for our democracy to know the full content of his report, now.

Return ALL of the Children NOW

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to continue to demand the immediate return of all the separated migrant children to their parents.

One of the most egregious outrages of this administration is still unresolved: thousands more migrant children than originally announced were torn from their parents and then were effectively lost. Now the government doesn’t want to be bothered to find them and reunite them with their families.

I keep calling about this because there are still children separated. I’ll keep calling until they are all back with their parents. I expect my representatives to keep working on this until that goal is met, as well!

Support the Save The Internet Act

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to support the “Save the Internet” Act”, re-establishing net neutrality across the country.

The Trump administration, spearheaded by FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai, ignored tens of thousands of public comments and bowed to the corporate interests who stand to make even more money by restricting internet access by the public and small companies. But the internet is a public good and must remain so. The Save the Internet Act will re-establish a free and open internet, which is a necessary condition for our free and open society.

Support S 42, the Background Check Expansion Act

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Senator to support S 42, the Background Check Expansion Act.

The House, enabled in no small measure by the youth activist push to ensure the safety of our students, finally passed HR 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, an important first step in regulating the use of guns. The bill has now moved to the Senate. I’m urging the Senator to fight for it’s passage through the Judiciary Committee and through the Senate.

[Feinstein]: Co-Sponsor the Green New Deal!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Senator Feinstein to drop her effort to craft an alternative to the Green New Deal and embrace the Green New Deal itself.

As David Roberts has written: “[Democrats] could stick together and show Republicans, and the public, that there is a new, stronger consensus behind reducing emissions. Or they could demonstrate that the party remains divided, weak, and hesitant — and that the GOP has plenty of room to continue cynically slow-walking the issue.”

The Senator’s refusal to support the broad outlines that the Green New Deal offers chooses the latter alternative and is misguided. In chasing an illusive and weak compromise, it squanders the activist energy and bold initiative necessary for solve this most critical problem. The Senator has written that she’d prefer to focus exclusively on climate change, but that is also misguided: addressing climate change will require massive and rapid changes to our infrastructure and society. We cannot build the political will for this kind of rapid and comprehensive change without also addressing the jobs that will be needed and those that will be lost, the healthcare that is often tied to those jobs, and the implications for communities most effected by the effects of climate change. The Green New Deal recognized that climate change is a systemic problem. We must address the system to mitigate it.

I urge the Senator to drop her hesitation and to support the Green New Deal.

[Harris]: Thank You for Co-Sponsoring the Green New Deal!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to thank Senator Harris for signing on as a co-sponsor of the Green New Deal, the most critical legislative framework of our time.

In co-sponsoring the Green New Deal, the Senator is leading the way to save our species from extinction and to save our nation from crushing inequality. The GND framework is bold and broad – exactly what we need at this dangerous moment. I urge the Senator to continue to push to keep the Green New Deal strong and ambitious. Nothing less will save us.

Request Trump’s Tax Returns – and His Organization’s

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Representative Thompson to push House & Ways Chairman Richard Neal to demand Trump’s tax returns as well as the Trump Organization’s tax returns in their entirety, going back at least ten years and to so so rapidly.

The Mueller report has been submitted. But it will only touch on a fraction of the crimes that Trump has apparently committed. It is up to the House to uncover the rest of them. One of the principal means of doing so is to scrutinize the Trump Organization’s tax returns, going back as least ten years. We need to know what criminal activity, if any, was taking place and the degree to which this put Trump in thrall to criminal interests, such as the Russian Mob (which is synonymous with the Russian government). It’s imperative that this happen as quickly as possible, but Richard Neal is dragging his heels. I’m asking Representative Thompson to light a fire underneath him.

Support AB 40, the Clean Cars 2040 Strategy

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry to support AB 40, the Clean Cars 2040 Strategy, in her role as a member of the Committee on Transportation.

The crisis is upon us. In its most recent report, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change gave us a decade to take decisive action to reduce carbon emissions. If we fail, the consequences will be devastating for our children and grandchildren. AB 40 addresses a critical part of the challenge for California: developing the path for a quick transition to Zero Emission Vehicles. The path must be articulated by 2021 and maintain a target of eliminating the sale of any new gas-powered vehicles in the state by 2040. This is a critical goal and the bill mandates the necessary first step to getting there. I urge Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry to support it.

Eliminate Plastic Pollution and Waste

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the Senator] to support Senate Bill 54, to illuminate plastic pollution and waste.

Single-use products—typically plastic packaging – are overflowing our landfills, fouling our oceans and streets, and burdening the environment. Current disposal and recycling policies cannot resolve these problems, and California can no longer afford to wait for a resolution.

Senate Bill 54 requires reduction, composting or recycling of 75 percent of single-use packaging by 2030. It’s a goal we can and must achieve in California. I’m asking the Senator to vote “YES” on SB 54.
