The Resistance to Trump has reached a critical point, with Trump using Attorney General William Barr as his personal lawyer, working to discredit the Mueller report’s cataloging of multiple impeachable offenses of collusion and obstruction and to attack Trump’s political opponents.
Yet our Democratic representatives are hesitant and wavering, afraid to begin impeachment hearings. This time it’s not Republicans who need to hear from us, but our Representatives who must find their courage and fast. After the release of the Mueller report, the question isn’t whether Trump deserves to be impeached. It’s whether Democrats will have the courage impeach him. Speaker Pelosi remains cautious, even in the face of overwhelming evidence of impeachable offenses. Meanwhile, Trump continues to consolidate power and is preparing to persecute his political opponents. We are running out of time. Congress must move as quickly as possible to begin the impeachment process. Trump cannot be appeased. He must be constrained. Impeachment is the tool Congress has to weaken him. They must use it now.

Fight Harder Without Delay!

I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to push all Democrats – Representatives and Senators – to respond aggressively and immediately to Trump’s consolidation of authoritarian power. There is no option but total confrontation, meeting power with power.
Trump is an authoritarian leader, not a president in any of the ways that word has been used throughout our history. He is consolidating power into his own hands by breaking whatever limits he can. Right now, no one is stopping him. He will not respond to negotiation or persuasion. The only thing that will stop him is power. Congress must use every power at its disposal to check his abuses. This means moving quickly and being ready to counter stonewalling with subpoenas, charges of contempt, and jail time immediately. We didn’t flip the House just to save our healthcare. We flipped it to save our country. Our Members of Congress must fight with every weapon they’ve got.

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Senator Feinstein to drop her effort to craft an alternative to the Green New Deal and embrace the Green New Deal itself.
Per David Roberts: “[Democrats] could stick together and show Republicans, and the public, that there is a new, stronger consensus behind reducing emissions. Or they could demonstrate that the party remains divided, weak, and hesitant — and that the GOP has plenty of room to continue cynically slow-walking the issue.”
The Senator’s refusal to support the broad outlines that the Green New Deal offers chooses the latter alternative and is misguided. In chasing an illusive and weak compromise, it squanders the activist energy and bold initiative necessary for solve this most critical problem. The Senator has written that she’d prefer to focus exclusively on climate change, but that is also misguided: addressing climate change will require massive and rapid changes to our infrastructure and society. We cannot build the political will for this kind of rapid and comprehensive change without also addressing the jobs that will be needed and those that will be lost, the healthcare that is often tied to those jobs, and the implications for communities most affected by the effects of climate change. The Green New Deal recognized that climate change is a systemic problem. We must address the system to mitigate it.
I urge the Senator to drop her hesitation and to support the Green New Deal.

Vote “NO” on SB 386 to Protect California’s Clean Energy Future
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask Senator Dodd to vote NO on Senate Bill 386 to protect California’s Clean Energy Future.
SB 386 would for the first time include large hydroelectric plants as part of the state’s renewable energy portfolio standard (“RPS”), thereby allowing utilities to reduce the need to add renewable, carbon-free energy sources to our power grid. We’re facing a climate crisis that threatens our state and our species. The state RPS is a critical part of our plan to move to 100% clean energy by 2045. It must not be weakened by SB 386. Please, Senator Dodd, vote NO.
