Condemn the Bribery!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to publicly name what’s right in front of us:  Trump and his family are selling out our country, right in front of our eyes.

Bribery is an impeachable offense. While you may not have the votes to impeach, there is no reason to remain silent. Trump has traded reducing sanctions on Chinese phone manufacturer ZTE for a half billion dollar investment in his Indonesian property. Kushner has used the U.S. to threaten Qatar and they’re now saving him from financial disaster with another half a billion dollars, for his Park Avenue albatross. I need you to step up now and call this out for what it is:  they are using the office of the Presidency to enrich themselves through bribery and extortion.

Will [the MoC] make headlines this week condemning this outrage?

‘Burning’ Intelligence Sources Endangers Us All

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to condemn Trump and Nunes for ‘burning’ (exposing) an American counter-intelligence informant in an effort to shield Trump from prosecution.

The outing of an American intelligence source by the Trump regime, Nunes and Ryan is an outrage that stands out even in the criminal enterprise that is the Trump presidency. Congress is supposed to oversee our intelligence services in order to prevent abuse, not to damage the services themselves. This action is a gross repudiation of the oaths of office by everyone involved. In other words, they are attacking our country instead of defending it. Going forward, it will damage recruitment of counter intelligence assets and endanger us all. [The MoC] must publicly condemn Trump, Nunes and Ryan and their dereliction of duty, as well as counter their outrageous lies about why they took this action.

 NO on the Farm Bill

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to continue to oppose the Republican Farm Bill and hope that they continue to fail to move it forward.

Republicans have loaded this year’s farm bill with attacks on poor Americans and give-aways to pesticide manufacturers. The bill stinks and should be defeated. Fortunately, Republicans are fighting over making the bill even worse and haven’t been able to muster the votes to pass it because it’s not awful enough. Democrats have stood firm against it. Please continue the fight!

There Are No “Animals”

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to vehemently condemn and to push back against Trump calling immigrants “animals”.

Trump’s remark was another of a series of statements aimed at dehumanizing immigrants. Historically use of similar rhetoric has preceded genocide, which is why his statements must always be condemned in the harshest possible terms. The right propaganda machine will twist your words and try to pretend that he didn’t mean what he said. The hell with them. Tell the truth:  there is no excuse, ever for words like these, not from the president, not from anyone.

Thank You for Your “NO” on Gina Haspel

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to thank the Senator for her NO vote on the nomination of Gina Haspel as Director of the CIA.

Senator Harris’s demand for a yes or no answer to the question, “Do you believe that the previous interrogation techniques were immoral?” and Senator Feinstein’s clearly stating her opposition to Haspel made all Californians proud. We stand firmly behind you:  torture is never ok under any circumstances. Not now. Not ever. Sadly, other Democrats caved and Haspel was confirmed, which is a disgrace. Thank you for doing the right thing!

Yes on SB 49:  Protect Our Environmental Standards from Trump

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Assemblymember to support SB 49 to ensure that California protects its environment regardless of the Federal government attempts to undermine our standards.

In response to the Trump Administration’s promised rollbacks of federal environmental regulations, Senate Bill 49 (“SB 49”), is an effort to protect California’s environmental standards.
●    SB 49 would prohibit state and local agencies from amending or revising their rules and regulations in a manner that makes state laws or standards less stringent than pre-2017 federal standards.
●    To the extent that state air and water laws do not already codify pre-2017 federal standards, SB 49 would require state agencies to establish such standards.
●    SB 49 would also require any species listed as endangered or threatened under the federal Endangered Species Act to have the same listings under state law.

Yes on SB 100 for Clean Energy

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Assemblymember to support SB 100 to ensure that 100% of California’s electricity is produced from zero-carbon resources by 2045.

●    SB 100 will accelerate the state’s current clean energy goals.
●    It requires 50% clean electricity by 2026;
●    60% clean electricity by 2030;
●    And sets a new goal of 100% of California electricity to be carbon-free by 2045.
