If you cannot keep up with the corruption in DC, you can understand why our Members of Congress need to hear from you. From influence peddling to appointing torturers, from defunding health care and taking it away from children - this administration has it all. Until we take it back.
And don’t forget to vote on June 5th!
Investigate Trump’s Bribes
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to call for an investigation into what are apparently bribes solicited and accepted by Donald Trump.
We now know that Trump bagman Michael Cohen’s hush money slush fund for Trump also received half a million dollars from Putin ally Viktor Vekselberg as well as pay-to-play funds from companies such as AT&T and Novartis. The first statements defending these payments are transparent and risible lies. Here is the money trail. Open an investigation and follow it.
Trumpublicans Are Destroying Our Healthcare
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to continue to make the case that the Trumpublican efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act and destroy Americans’ healthcare are working.
The Trumpublicans weren’t able to repeal the ACA, so they did the next worst thing: they undercut it at every turn, repealing the individual mandate that kept viable insurance pools, removing restrictions on insurers, encouraging skimpy plans that provide no real insurance. Now we’re starting to see the results. Premiums in Virginia are estimated to go up by as much as 64% next year. Millions of people are becoming uninsured. The Trumpublicans are responsible. Make sure the public knows it: name the crisis and the perpetrators.
Scott Pruitt Must Go!!
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to demand the impeachment of Scott Pruitt, the head of the EPA, an ethical nightmare who is unfit to serve.
Pruitt has been mired in scandal for months, yet every week there are more appalling discoveries. This past week it was that Pruitt developed a list of places he wanted to visit, then asked lobbyists and friends to find reasons for him to travel there. He is selling our health and safety to polluters for his personal benefit. It is past time for him to go. If Republicans won’t help impeach him, then at least get them on record defending the indefensible. Then use it to drive them out of office.
No Clawing Back Money from Children!
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to oppose any and all efforts by the Trump regime to claw back money appropriated for the Childrens’ Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and other vital services.
Republicans agreed to fund CHIP and other vital programs and now Trump is pouting, concerned about the deficit created by the monstrous Republican tax give-away last December. He wants the money back, but instead of taking it back from the idle rich, he wants to take it from children who need it for their healthcare. What’s next? Clubbing puppies on the White House lawn? Tell Trump: NO WAY.
NO on Gina Haspel
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Senator to vote NO on the nomination of Gina Haspel as Director of the CIA.
By all means, use her hearing to make more information available about the use of torture during the Bush administration. But then, please reject Gina Haspel’s nomination. She sent cables authorizing torture. She oversaw a black site that conducted torture. She destroyed the evidence of torture. These are all war crimes. “I was just doing my job” can never be an excuse for committing them. Not in the United States. Not now. Not ever.
NO on Wendy Vitter
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Senator to vote NO on the nomination of Wendy Vitter to the Federal Bench.
Vitter made headlines when she refused to answer whether or not she agreed with the ruling in Brown v Board of Education. Let’s be clear: the last thing we need is a segregationist judge on the bench anywhere. As if this weren’t enough, she’s clearly against a woman’s right to choose. Please, vote NO.
