It’s been 166 days since Stoneman Douglas became a high school we had all heard of.
It’s been months since parents and children were separated at the border - and for some, there is no reunion in sight.
It’s 101 days until the midterm election is over.
What are we going to do? We’ll call.
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code _______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to support any legislation that would make it legal for anyone with a 3-D printer to create a working gun — untraceable by law enforcement with no background checks required.
I urge [the MoC] to support Rep. Mike Thompson’s efforts to get Sec. Pompeo to reverse his decision allowing anyone with a 3-D printer to make their own gun - a gun that could pass through weapons detection systems.
Reunite ALL of the children!
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to continue to demand that the Trump regime reunite ALL of the remaining migrant children ripped from their parents NOW.
Trump tore the children from their parents to show how cruel he could be. Health and Human Services and the Department of Homeland Security had no plan whatsoever for keeping track of which child belonged to which parent. It was a recipe for disaster and that’s what’s continuing to unfold. Add a generous dose of scorn for the victims and cover with lies and you get the crime that we’re still faced with: children and parents having their lives destroyed. I appreciate [the MoC]’s efforts to help the kids, but our work won’t be done until every child is back in their parent’s arms.
Trump is Betraying America
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to continue to state publicly at every available opportunity that Trump is betraying America to Russia.
We don’t know the “why” or all of the “how” but we can be certain of the what: Trump conspired with Russia to throw the election to him and it worked. He’s an illegitimate president* and while the only legal recourse is impeachment, which won’t happen with the Republicans in power, the American public needs to be told repeatedly what happened. This isn’t about legislating, it’s about messaging – and I need [the MoC] to use their platform to tell the story, over and over.
Protect Our Healthcare
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to look for every opportunity to remind Americans that the Trump regime is working overtime to destroy our healthcare.
Trump has been taking the Affordable Care Act apart piece by piece by executive action and inaction, since he couldn’t get a legislative repeal. Finally this last week he was forced to take a step back and agree to pay risk reduction payments to insurers as mandated by law. It was a clear sign that if enough of a stink is raised, he can be pushed. That’s why I’m calling: to raise a stink. And that’s what I’m asking [the MoC] to do, too.
Climate Change Causes “Fire-nadoes”
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to link climate change to the firestorms sweeping California and other states, every time [she/he] addresses the fires.
Climate change is getting lost in the fog of Trump and Republican misdeeds. But it’s the gravest danger we face and it’s not slowing down. Increasingly devastating fires are one sign. By bringing climate change back into the conversation, [the MoC] can help prepare the ground for the work we need to do once we’ve thrown the Republicans out.
Kavanaugh Won’t Protect Our Democracy
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Senator to find all the evidence to prove what is already apparent: Brett Kavanaugh won’t protect our democracy from Trump and the Russian attack that put him in power.
Even from what’s already publicly available, it looks like Kavanaugh’s view of the presidency is that the office places the holder above the law. That would be a dangerous view at any time, with Trump it may amount to a permanent surrender to Vladimir Putin. I’m imploring the Senator to find every scrap of evidence to prove that Kavanaugh would be a clear danger to democracy, then use it to sink him.
NO on SBs 1088 & 901
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the [Assemblyperson/Senator] to oppose SBs 1088 & 901, which would give PG&E a free pass.
PG&E burned down our homes through their negligence. They don’t deserve to be protected and they don’t deserve to be let off the hook. If [the Assemblyperson/Senator] can’t see that, they don’t deserve to represent me. Period.

Fully Fund the Human Rights Commission
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask the Board of Supervisors to immediately restore the staff support, physical space and phone which the Commission on Human Rights needs to do their work protecting the rights of residents of Sonoma County.
The Board recently withdrew funds for staff support (for only twelve hours a week) and even the use of a room and phone used to do their work of the Commission on Human Rights. Human rights are under attack daily by the Trump regime. The last thing we need in Sonoma County is to withdraw support for their protection at this critical time. Please restore the funds immediately!
Background (from CHR vice chair Dmitra Smith):
"The Board of Supervisors recently approved a budget which ended staff support for the Commission on Human Rights (as well as our sister Commission on the Status of Women). We lobbied our supervisors in vain. We have just received word that we will no longer be able to hold meetings in the PRMD hearing room but have been moved to the HR Training Center. I'm not going to speculate on the reasons for this, but as I hear that funds are tight post fires, I'm aware that $4 million dollars was spent on fighting for immunity for the deputy who killed Andy Lopez, so it's more about priorities from my view.
"In the past few years, I and many others have worked diligently to establish the Commission on Human Rights as a beacon of light within the county government system. A place where truly marginalized voices can be amplified and uplifted. Where justice, intersectionality and truth can grow and flourish. We have published reports on racism in schools, advocated for our unhoused neighbors, fought back against hate crimes, supported our immigrant, LGBTQ+, Disability communities, and so much more, not to mention mentoring over 100 Sonoma County youth in the Junior Commission on Human Rights.
"I am told that the CAO office will advise the supervisors on how the commission will function. I don't know any of those people and they certainly don't understand what I do as the Vice Chair. I already work hundreds of hours per year for free and I am honored to do so, but we can not do it without adequate support and an appropriate venue for our monthly public meetings.
"If you believe in the importance of having a fully functioning Commission on Human Rights and Commission on the Status of Women, I URGE you to contact your supervisors and express your concern. We still have not gotten permission from the BOS to fundraise so that we can get this PSA I directed into theaters. Now we'll need to fundraise to function. I will not go quietly into the night with this one. I have worked too hard and too long these past six years. The people of Sonoma County deserve much better. This is not the time in our nation, state or county to diminish the work of the Commission on Human Rights.”
