Phone Scripts 4/6/17

BECAUSE OF RECENT NEWS BREAKS, WE SUGGEST ALL CALLERS/FAXERS/EMAILERS URGE CONGRESS TO HALT BUSINESS AS USUAL. HERE IS A BASIC SCRIPT, PLEASE PERSONALIZE.

URGENT CALL ON APRIL 6TH

Call Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Kamala Harris

Feinstein: DC Office (202) 224-3841; SF Office (415) 393-0707; LA Office (310) 914-7300

Harris: DC Office (202) 224-3553; SF Office (415) 355-9041

Hi, my name is ______ and I'm calling from [City, Zip]. I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County. Thank you for your decision to vote in opposition to the nomination of Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. The Senate is poised to vote upon this nomination on April 6th. Please vote NO on cloture, and NO on the nuclear option. If the nominee does not have 60 affirmative votes, change the nominee, not the process. Thank you.

Additional messages:

I urge the Senator to demand a HALT to all business as usual including the Gorsuch vote until testimony on Russian involvement in the 2016 national election is concluded, and the results made public. However, neither the House nor the Senate is an independent body. The Senator should also demand an immediate, complete and independent investigative body to fully determine the Trump administration’s ties to Russia. Thank you.

I encourage Senator [Feinstein or Harris] to continue to look closely at the impact of the budget recommendation, especially concerning services to the poor, the elderly, children, and education. Thank you.

Call Congressman Thompson (District 5) or Congressman Huffman (District 2)

Mike Thompson: DC Office (202) 225-3311; Santa Rosa Phone (707) 542-7182

Jared Huffman: DC Office (202) 225-5161; Petaluma Phone (707) 981-8967

Script 1.

Hi, my name is ______ and I'm a constituent from [City, Zip]. I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County. I am calling to request that the Congressman HALT all business as usual and demand an immediate, complete and independent investigation into the Trump administration’s ties to Russia. Please publicly support Minority Leader Pelosi's call for Rep. Nunes to recuse himself from any further involvement in this matter, and if necessary, stepping aside from his leadership role on the House Intelligence Committee as it looks into the matter. Doing this will remove any hint of bias on the part of Rep. Nunes or other House Republicans. Thank you for your continuing efforts on our behalf!
