We’re all gobsmacked about James Comey’s firing. We’re angry, frustrated, even despondent. We find ourselves swimming ever against the torrent of Trump’s assaults, but even if you find yourself wading in the muck, maintain a forward momentum at whatever pace you’re able. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
We are moving forward together, Indivisible!
Today we’re asking that you support our “Climate Huddle” working group. They are a pop-up team in Indivisible Sonoma County interested in focusing their activism hours on climate issues in order to help us provide good information to our Members of Congress. When we last met with Sean Elsbernd and Tom Paulino from Senator Feinstein’s office, the Climate Huddle folks presented some research documentation regarding climate change. Feinstein’s staff asked that we tap our members to write letters regarding our environmental concerns. Here’s what the Climate Huddle folks are asking us to do:
Tell Your Story! If you have a story about how a climate or environmental issue has impacted your health, your family, your business, your finances or your local economy, we want to hear it. Have you or your community been affected by the drought? The wildfires? The rain? Does the economy in your area face a threat from rising sea levels or other climate changes? Are you or your children experiencing health issues related to air or water quality in your town? Do you work in a renewable energy field? Has a clean energy or environmental company impacted your town or your home? These are some examples; tell us your story.
Please be sure to include your name (first only is fine) and zip code. Please email these stories to our Climate Huddle folks at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our current scripts ask our lawmakers to immediately call for an independent special prosecutor to determine if there was any collusion between Trump’s campaign and the Russians. We ask that all congressional business STOPS other than this urgent matter. https://www.indivisiblesoco.com/updates/2017/5/10/urgent-action-for-5102017
