Russia and the recent presidential election

Hi, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip].  I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County.

Nearly every day there is a new revelation that demonstrates strong, hidden links between supporters, aides, appointees, and friends of the Republican President and Russian governmental officials. I’m calling to thank the Senator for continuing to speak out about the need for a full and transparent congressional investigation. I encourage the Senator to ensure full subpoena power and adequate funding for all investigations into this matter.  Thank you.

Gutting healthcare

Hi, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip].  I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County.  The Republican President just released his budget, which if approved would decrease funding for Medicare by $800 billion.  And the Congressional Office of the Budget indicates that, as approved by the House, the Trumpcare proposal will leave 23 million American’s without healthcare, and millions more with pre-existing conditions facing skyrocketing premiums or insurance denials. What will [Senator Harris or Feinstein] do to restore the safety net and protect the lives of millions?

Alternative Script:

Speaking out against Trumpcare

Hi, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip]. I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County. I am calling to encourage the Senator to work to get equal representation for women senators at the conference table where decisions will be made about the Senate’s version of healthcare. The Congressional Office of the Budget indicates, among other things, that Trumpcare would leave an estimated 51 million people under 65 uninsured by 2026. This is not fixing the healthcare crisis in our country. And that’s something the Republican men seem to have ignored. Thank you.

Ask Senator Harris to Fight for Education

Hello, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip].  I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County.  Betsy DeVos, the Secretary of Education, has acknowledged that she would not rule out providing Federal tax dollars to schools that discriminate against students based on socio-economic status, race, religion, or ability.  The hard-won right for all children to receive a full and equal education is at risk. On Thursday the Senate Committee on the Budget will hold a hearing on the President’s Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Proposal. Will Senator Harris commit to pushing back and rejecting Trump’s education budget proposal?

Call Senator Feinstein about the Education budget

*SF Office: (415) 393-0707
*DC Office: (202) 224-3841
*LA Office: (310) 914-7300
*San Diego Office: (619) 231-9712
*Fresno Office: (559) 485-7430

Hello, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip]. I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County.  I remain deeply concerned about the Republican President’s proposed budget and his efforts to destroy our public education system by shifting $10.6 million dollars to private and religious schools. This budget builds on efforts by Betsy DeVos to create a system that will leave many children behind. Indeed, Secretary DeVos appears comfortable with an educational system that is likely to become increasingly unequal, and one that reduces opportunities for children whose choices are already limited. Senator Feinstein must continue to speak out about the budget, on the floor and in the press, to protect all of California’s children.

LGBTQI Civil Rights:

Hi, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip]. I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County. The Human Rights Campaign is currently tracking over 100 anti-LGBTQI bills in 29 states. It is terrifying to watch rights so hard-won be rolled back by this administration, not to mention the Republican President’s disturbing refusal to speak out against what is happening to the LGBTQI community in Chechnya.

Will [Representative Thompson or Huffman] commit to signing on as co-sponsor of HR98: the Equality Act, which will protect LGBTQI citizens from arbitrary discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

Will the Congressman agree to sign on to Rep. Lee’s H. RES. 332: Supporting the goals and ideals of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. (51 co-sponsors!)

Thank Representative Huffman for his efforts to Protect Clean Water:

Hi, my name is _____ and I live at [Address, City, Zip].  I am also a member of Indivisible Sonoma County.

I am calling to thank Representative Huffman for speaking against H.R.953, a bill that exempts commercial pesticide application from regulation under the Clean Water Act, and offering an amendment to protect fisheries from unregulated pesticides. I also wish to express my sorrow that this amendment was defeated.  It would have allowed the EPA and state agencies to continue providing basic protections for commercial, recreational, or subsistence fisheries - all of which are placed in jeopardy if  pesticides can pollute our clean and natural waterways.
