Oppose any budget resolution that cuts critical programs

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

Thank you for caring about Medicaid, Medicare, food assistance, and other critical programs that people like me rely on. Please oppose the upcoming budget resolution and use all procedural methods possible to ensure that any tax cuts must be offset by raising revenue in some other way, either by imposing new taxes on corporations or the wealthy, or by closing tax loopholes.

I’m glad the [Senator/Congressman] is opposed to slashing key programs. Please take down my contact information so you can let me know how the[Senator/Congressman] votes in the end. I’ll be watching this vote closely.

Rescue the People of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to ask the [Senator/Representative] to demand an immediate and comprehensive rescue for the people of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. While the President plays golf and attacks those in distress, heros on the ground are begging for our help. Lives will be lost if we don’t act now.

Will the [MoC] demand that the Administration save the people of Puerto Rico and the U.S. V.I. by using all the resources at its disposal to avert disaster and rebuild the islands?

Protect the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Now!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to ask the [Senator/Representative] to push for an immediate extension to CHIP, based on the work of the Senate Finance Committee under Orrin Hatch and Ron Wyden. CHIP provides health insurance for 9 million American children and the program expired on September 30th, as efforts to extend it were delayed due to the awful Graham-Cassidy bill. Although most providers have funds to keep the program going for a while more, it’s past time to get this done and keep those 9 million children safe.

Will the [Senator/Representative] push for immediate action to extend CHIP?

Support Bills to Protect the Mueller Investigation

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to ask the [Senator/Representative] to support the bills being crafted in both the House and the Senate that would protect the Mueller investigation of Russian and potentially Trump interference in the 2016 election from interference. The President has indicated multiple times that he’d like to shut the investigation down. He must not be allowed to do so:  we need to know what happened when our electoral process was attacked. While there are several bills being proposed, I’m asking the MoC to support the strongest bill possible.

Will the [Senator/Representative] support the bills designed to protect the Mueller investigation from interference?

Shut Down the “Election Integrity Commission” before our voting rights are lost

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to ask the [Senator/Representative] to demand an investigation into whether the “Election Integrity” Commission is in violation of the Hatch Act, which prohibits officials from using government resources for political ends. The commission is a transparent partisan effort to disenfranchise voters by focusing on the chimera of “voter fraud”. It in fact is a threat to democracy, not an effort to protect it.

Will the [MoC] demand an investigation into whether the “Election Integrity” Commission is in violation of the Hatch Act?

Protect Senate Power on Judicial Nominees via the Blue Slip process.

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to add my support to Senator Feinstein’s call to protect the Senate tradition of the blue slip, which allows both home-state senators to have a say in which judges serve in their states. The record clearly shows that this tradition has a long history of bipartisan support. Unsurprisingly, it is now under attack by a ruthless and reckless GOP. I support any and all efforts by the Senator to defend this tradition and to let Republicans know that if they gut it, they will in the future pay a steep price indeed for their actions.

Oppose Weakening U.S. Disability Laws (HR 620)

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to ask the [Representative] to oppose weakening US disability laws by opposing the ADA Education and Reform Act of 2017 (HR 620). The proposed legislation would dramatically increase the burden on any person with a disability who seeks to vindicate their rights. Our country has the obligation to ensure that businesses don’t discriminate against people with disabilities.

Will the Representative oppose HR 620 and its weakening of US disability laws?

Co-Sponsor H.R. 3671, the ‘Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future’ Act

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible.

I’m calling to ask the Representative to join California Representatives Lee, Barragan and Lieu in co-sponsoring H.R. 3671, the Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future Act, introduced by Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. The OFF Act would put the US on a pathway to replace fossil fuels with 100% clean energy generation and use by 2035. Climate change is the greatest threat to civilization that we face. The OFF Act will move us decisively towards reducing our carbon footprint, while creating jobs and stimulating our economy.

Will the Representative sign on as a co-sponsor to the OFF Act?
