Leaders Pelosi and Schumer were brilliant in their meeting with Trump. He is full of lies and bluster, but with the loss of the House, he has no power with which to compel funding of his idiotic wall. Please continue to ignore his threats. If he wants to shut down the government on his own, let him. Schumer was right: elections have consequences. Trump’s wall died on November 6th.

Begin the Process of Impeachment
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to demand that the House begin the process of impeachment by opening inquiries into any and all likely impeachable crimes and offenses by Donald Trump in order to determine if a basis for drafting articles of impeachment exists.
The House has the sole and inescapable duty under the Constitution to investigate the president independently if reason exists to believe that he or she is guilty of treason, bribery or other high crimes or misdemeanors. And reason does certainly exist, many time over. Everywhere one looks, there is evidence of possible and grave crimes. The Constitution is clear that the responsibility for instigating impeachment rests with the House and the House alone. It cannot be delegated, but neither can it be avoided, as Republicans have done for the past two years. The failure to act is itself a Constitutional crisis. Please, do not let it continue. Accept your responsibility and do your duty: open inquiries to determine if impeachment is warranted.

Investigate the Death of Jakelin Caal
Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to demand an inquiry into the death of Jakelin Caal, only seven years old, who died of exhaustion and dehydration while in the custody of the Department of Homeland Security.
The administration*’s policy has been transparent all year: be as cruel and abusive towards asylum seekers as it can possibly be, in order to dissuade them from coming but also to act out the sadistic impulses of Trump in front of his “base”. The results have been horrific. Hundreds of children have been torn from their parents, many of them then lost. Thousands of children have been incarcerated in camps. Children have been abused by workers who were never given background checks. And now Jakelin has died at the age of seven. This abuse of children and their families is a disgrace to our nation. It must be investigated and those who have caused it punished.
