It’s Trump’s Shutdown

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to hold firm and let Trump own his shutdown for as long as it takes for McConnell to cave. No wall money. Not a penny. Not now. Not ever.

Don’t Handicap the Green New Deal

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to continue to push for a Green New Deal.

While I applaud the formation of the Select Committee on the Environment, it’s not enough. We also need:

  1. Only members on the Committee who have foresworn donations from fossil fuel companies

  2. Solutions developed for impacted communities

  3. The charge for the Committee to draft a Green New Deal, with the subpoena and legislative power to propose the new legislation

I’m asking the Congressman to continue to push for these requirements. We can’t afford to settle for anything else.

Begin the Process of Impeachment

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [the MoC] to insist that the House of Representatives begin, methodically and carefully, the process of impeachment of Donald Trump.

Impeachment must not be taken lightly and the temptation is great to let Robert Mueller do the heavy lifting. But the Constitution is clear: it is the House of Representatives that is our defense against a corrupt, incompetent and dictatorial – a dangerous – president. You must not shirk your duty. True, the votes don’t currently exist in the Senate to convict. True, public opinion has not yet fully turned. However, those are not signs of the beginning of the process. They must be results of the process unfolding. “If we have confidence in institutions to do the work of upholding the law and norms against the attacks from this president, we then should have confidence, as a basic tenet of democratic self-rule, for the public to render a judgment, on the evidence and the arguments, that are presented over time.” We are looking to you, our Representatives, to gather the evidence and present the arguments, clearly, carefully and responsibly. It’s time to get started.

I Support H.R. 8!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to thank and congratulate Representative Thompson on being able to introduce H.R. 8, a requirement for universal background checks when firearms are sold.

Mike and countless others have fought so hard for so long for this legislation. Why I realize that Mitch McConnell will stymie it for now, bringing forth H.R. 8 fulfills a promise to the families of victims and to activists around the country. It’s an enormous step forward. It will be one of many. Thank you!
