Impeach Trump for Refusing to Sanction Russia

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to ask [my MoC] to call for the impeachment of Donald Trump for refusing to carry out his duties as president.

Congress voted overwhelmingly last summer to impose sanctions on Russia as punishment for interfering in our elections. On Monday the administration informed Congress that the sanctions “aren’t necessary”. Plainly Trump feels he needs to obey the person who put him in power – Vladmir Putin. Trump is refusing to carry out his duties as president, an impeachable offense. I’m asking [the MoC] to call for his impeachment today.

Condemn Devin Nunes’s Attack on National Security

I’m calling to ask [my MoC] to publicly condemn Devin Nunes and the Republicans of the House Intelligence Committee for endangering national security in order to promote a conspiracy theory against the FBI.

Nunes has abandoned all pretense of carrying out his duties of oversight in order to protect a guilty administration from the Mueller investigation. He has done this by selectively editing classified information to create the impression that the Trump campaign was unfairly surveilled, hoping to undermine the investigation being ably led by Robert Mueller.

The rightwing “state media” has hyped this outrage and his committee has voted to release the memo, over the objections of the Department of Justice, without even a review. This endangers national security by releasing classified information without regard for the damage this may cause and by shredding the relationship between the DOJ and FBI and the White House and its lackey, Nunes. We rely on the DOJ and the FBI to protect us. Nunes is seriously undermining their ability to do so.

Protect the DREAMers, Protect Immigration

The administration has put forth a draconian “deal” that is nothing more than a white nationalist immigration wish list: wall, severe cuts to legal immigration and so on. They want all this in exchange for treating the DREAMers fairly. This is unacceptable. I need [my MoC] to insist on the DREAMers right to stay in America, their home, but on fair terms.

Thank You for Protecting Our Coast

Thank You for Fighting for Blue Slips!

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent from zip code______ and a member of Indivisible. I’m calling to thank the Senator for fighting for the tradition of “blue slips” which allow the Senators of a given state to have veto power over federal judicial nominations in their state.

Republicans’ abuse of the blue slip process – basically denying any appointments, instead of being thoughtful in their use of blocking appointments they considered unwise – during the Obama administration created a huge backlog of unfilled judgeships. Now the Trump administration is packing the courts, abetted by Charles Grassley’s abandoning of the blue slip tradition. This is foul play. I stand with the Senator and encourage her to make Grassley pay through the nose for this outrage.
